Theoretical and practical courses in Andrology
Inebir is offering a theoretical-practical Andrology course with the aim of teaching the processes carried out in the Andrology Unit of an assisted reproduction clinic, first introducing the student to the basic concepts of andrology and subsequently applying this knowledge to clinical practice.
To whom it May concern
Aimed at professionals interested in the world of assisted reproduction with training in laboratory technician, embryology, degree/degree in biomedical sciences (Biology, Medicine, Veterinary, Pharmacy and related fields).
Program
Day 1
16:00 – 16:15 Presentation and distribution of teaching materials.
16:15 – 16:45 Spermatogenesis. Theoretical concepts.
16:45 – 17:15 Processing of a semen sample: macroscopic and microscopic examination of semen. Classification of semen samples according to WHO criteria.
17:15 – 17:45 Semen sample preparation techniques.
17:45 – 18:00 Coffee Break.
18:00 – 18:30 Practical session I: processing and preparation of semen samples. Application of theoretical concepts: macro and microscopic parameters and classification.
18:30 – 20:00 Practical session II: Semen sample processing and preparation. Application of theoretical concepts: techniques for semen sample processing and preparation.
Day 2
16:00 – 16:30 Processing of a seminal sample: functional examination with complementary techniques such as hypoosmotic test (HOS test), Mart test, fragmentation test, vitality test, annexin columns.
16:30 – 17:30 Processing of semen samples and indications for artificial insemination, IVF, ICSI, PICSI, testicular biopsy. Processing of semen samples with positive serologies.
17:30 – 17:45 Coffee Break.
17:45 – 18:15 Semen freezing and sample storage in the bank.
18:15 – 20:00 Practical session: semen sample processing and freezing.
